The IBI Mini I-Blue plasmid isolation kits have been developed specifically to optimize the isolation of plasmid DNA from E. coli. These kits include the I-Blue lysis buffer which helps prevent common handling errors and ensure efficient cell lysis and SDS precipitation. Typical yields are 20-35µg for high-copy plasmid or 3-10µg for low-copy plasmid from a 4ml sample of cultured bacterial cells. After running the I-Blue kits, the purified plasmid DNA is ready for use in Restriction Enzyme Digestion, Ligation, PCR, and sequencing reactions.
