Application: Anti-Flotillin 2 (C-terminal) antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for indirect immunofluorescence at a concentration of 5-10mug/mL using human HEK-293T cells and western blotting at a concentration of 0.5-1mug/mL using whole extract of human HeLa cells.
Biochem/physiol Actions: Flotillin-2 is a protein encoded by the FLOT2 gene in humans. Flotillins are involved in cell adhesion processes and play a role during breast cancer progression. FLOT2 especially plays a functional role in cell-cell adhesion in non-malignant epithelial cells. It may have an essential function in intestinal physiology, especially in the colon. FLOT2 has been implicated in several signaling pathways in tumor cells and can be used as a prognostic biomarker for breast cancer progression.
Immunogen: synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acid residues 415-428 of human flotillin 2 with an N-terminal added cysteine, conjugated to KLH. The corresponding sequence differs by 2 amino acids in rat and mouse.
Physical form: Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
Target description: Flotillin 2 (C-terminal) encodes a caveolae-associated, integral membrane protein, which is thought to function in neuronal signaling.
RIDADR: NONH for all modes of transport
