Synonyms: Anti-Serine/threonine-protein kinase VRK1 antibody produced in rabbit; Anti-Vaccinia-related kinase 1 antibody produced in rabbit
Storage: -20C
Application: Anti-VRK1 antibody produced in rabbit, a Prestige Antibody, is developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project (www.proteinatlas.org). Each antibody is tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues. These images can be viewed on the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) site by clicking on the Image Gallery link. The antibodies are also tested using immunofluorescence and western blotting. To view these protocols and other useful information about Prestige Antibodies and the HPA, visit sigma.com/prestige.
Biochem Physiol Actions: Vaccinia Related Kinase (VRK1) is essential for nuclear envelope formation and is associated with proliferation phenotypes. VRK1 is one of the mitotic kinases that plays important roles in cell cycle, nuclear condensation and transcription regulation. Mutation in the gene disturbs cell cycle progression and may result in apoptosis of cells in the nervous system. It may act as a new target for development of inhibitors of cellular proliferation.
