SUN2 (Sad1 and UNC84 domain containing 2) gene encodes a 85kDa inner nuclear membrane protein with the SUN domain localized to the periplasmic space between the inner and the outer nuclear membranes. It forms a bridge or a LINC complex across the nuclear envelope (NE) connecting NE to the cytoskeleton contributing to nuclear positioning and cellular rigidity. The N-terminus extends into the nucleoplasm. The C-terminal SUN domain that is in the perinuclear space associates with short, lumenal peptides of KASH domain containing membrane proteins of the outer nuclear membrane (ONM) to form a molecular link between the ONM and the inner nuclear membrane (INM).
Synonyms: Anti-Rab5-interacting protein; Anti-Rab5IP; Anti-Sad1/unc-84-like protein 2; Anti-UNC84B
Storage: -20C
Application: Anti-UNC84B antibody produced in rabbit, a Prestige Antibody, is developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project (www.proteinatlas.org). Each antibody is tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues. These images can be viewed on the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) site by clicking on the Image Gallery link. The antibodies are also tested using immunofluorescence and western blotting. To view these protocols and other useful information about Prestige Antibodies and the HPA, visit sigma.com/prestige.
