Synonyms: Anti-Roundabout homolog 2 precursor
Storage: -20C
Application: Anti-ROBO2 antibody produced in rabbit, a Prestige Antibody, is developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project (www.proteinatlas.org). Each antibody is tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues. These images can be viewed on the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) site by clicking on the Image Gallery link. The antibodies are also tested using immunofluorescence and western blotting. To view these protocols and other useful information about Prestige Antibodies and the HPA, visit sigma.com/prestige.
Biochem Physiol Actions: ROBO2 (Roundabout homolog 2) gene encodes a transmembrane receptor that belongs to the ROBO family that is a part of the immunoglobulin superfamily of proteins. The encoded protein serves as a receptor for the slit homolog 2 protein (SLIT2) and the complex controls the formation of ureteric bud (UB). It is involved in the development of the nervous system, axon guidance and cell migration. Defects in the gene can result in congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract, including vesicoureteral reflux.
