Biochem Physiol Actions: PLEKHA1 (pleckstrin homology domain containing A1) is a putative adaptor protein composed of two sequential PH (pleckstrin homology) domains. One of its C-terminal PH domain can binds 3 and 4 phosphate groups of phosphatidylinositol 3,4-diphosphate (PtdIns(3,4)P2) but not to other phosphoinositides. The N-terminal PH domains of PLEKHA1 does not interact with any phosphoinositide. It has been reported that it possess low interacting affinity for PtdIns(3,4,5)P3. It may mediate cellular responses that are triggered by PtdIns(3,4)P2.
