Phosphatase domain containing, paladin 1 (PALD1) is a putative cytoplasmic microfilament-associated phosphoprotein consisting of four predicted protein phosphatase (PTP) domains. It is expressed in the vasculature, hematopoietic cells and other nonvascular cells.
Synonyms: Anti-KIAA1274; Anti-Paladin
Storage: -20C
Application: Anti-KIAA1274 antibody produced in rabbit, a Prestige Antibody, is developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project (www.proteinatlas.org). Each antibody is tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues. These images can be viewed on the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) site by clicking on the Image Gallery link. The antibodies are also tested using immunofluorescence and western blotting. To view these protocols and other useful information about Prestige Antibodies and the HPA, visit sigma.com/prestige.
Biochem Physiol Actions: Phosphatase domain containing, paladin 1 (PALD1) inhibits insulin's ability to downregulate a FOXO1A-driven reporter gene, suppresses upstream insulin-stimulated AKT (serine/threonine kinase) phosphorylation and reduces insulin receptor (IR) abundance when overexpressed. Whereas knockdown of this gene causes the reverse. It has been suggested that PALD1 may act as both positive and negative control during maintenance of proper skeletal myogenic differentiation in vitro.
